Volkswagen Mobility Solutions Rwanda is a Rwandan mobility company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen Group South Africa, providing mobility solutions for businesses and individuals.

CHALLENGE
Building Trust, One Journey at a Time
Volkswagen Mobility Solutions Rwanda needed to make its locally assembled vehicles accessible to a market where high upfront costs limited purchasing power and Toyota was the more familiar choice. Beyond selling cars, the challenge was to build trust in the Volkswagen brand, encourage people to experience its vehicles through rentals, and offer flexible mobility solutions that addressed Rwanda’s transportation needs.

APPROACH
Adapting Mobility to the Rwandan Context
Our approach started with understanding how ride-hailing apps work and adapting those principles to the Rwandan context. With limited internet connectivity, low familiarity with digital maps, and established local habits to consider, we knew Move needed more than a conventional ride-hailing experience. We focused on understanding local users, their needs, and how they naturally navigate transport to create an experience that felt familiar, accessible, and practical for Rwanda.
